I like option #1 becasue it would make her the object of envy from all the girls that she works with. Thoughtful, unexpected, and neat! But don't take my opinon - I'm known for ID10T mistakes.

yeah, but there are so many ways that could go wrong, and making it so that it could only go right would take days of planing and preperation, something that would go noticed

I've been planning this for months really and am in the works to meet with her supervisor and such. Plus I know 2 doctors at the hospital from our church who both work on the floor she's on. As soon as the ring is ready I'll iniate the final phase. Yippie for the job I've gots! Now I'll be able to afford the ring work and be happy. For those of you curious about the ring. I'll have a before and after picture up when I get a chance. The ring is from my mom's grandpa and grandma. It was their engagement ring. It's 96 or 98 years old. And the diamond was done in an "old european cut" which apparently isn't done anymore. It looks amazing and elegant.

I'm KINDA freaking out. Tonite I talk to her parents over dinner about marrying their daughter and am really nervous. I don't get nervous often, I worry at times but not like this. I've been shot and at and had mortars land next to me, but this comes the cloesest to freezing fear I've ever had!

play it cool man....just.....go there with a fake shotgun....and then have a friend try and break in looking like a zombie, fight it off with the shotgun making sure the parents can see, then ask if you can marry their daughter, no one can resist a zombie hunter!

Okay, since Jonus hasn't posted an update. He talked to the parents, got their blessing. He's not getting the ring re-done since it is a family heirloom. His G/F likes white gold, but it's currently in standard gold. He's not sure if she'll keep it the way it is due to the heiratage, or if she'll still want it changed, so, he's giving her the option AFTER he asks her. Which, IF he told me correctly, is this Saturday Night! He was talking to me about it on the phone while I was driving back from Michigan, so I may have messed something up, but he was shooting for next month, and well, it's close enough! And he's also going with the 'at work' thing, so... yeah, there's a update on all of that for you. Jonus, please correct me if I got any of it wrong, but, I don't think I did!

I say number 1. although most girls want something extremely cliche and romantic - The element of surprise usually wins them over. you show how much you care when you go out of your way to do something that surprises someone, if it's that important to you, it'll be that easy for her to say yes. Good luck Jonus, I hope you're happy with her, And I hope she treats you well

OKIES!!
So saturday night I went up to the hospital and met her aunt with the flowers and wearing my suit. She snuck me up to the floor and into a room at the end of the hallway. She then pulled the curtain and told me to stand in the far corner of the room. Then she sent my g/f down and she came down and moved the curtain and then I popped out of the corner and handed her the flowers and dropped to one knee and deftly opened the ring box and asked her to marry me. She almost cried and said yes. Then I told her she had the rest of the night off and she didn't belive me! So we headed to the nurses station where most of her coworkers were laughing and congratulating us. We then drove to her parents, grandparents and great grandparent and my parents the rest of the night. I'm happy, she's happy, and it sounds like a year engagement is what we both want. And I asked her and she said I could invite all of you who are willing to come to the reception. Ok i'm off to work this morning! I'll keep you guys posted!
