And lo, I have reinstalled steam and counter-strike on my laptop.

And whenever I try to open CS, I get a really weird looking black screen like thing with backwards text on it. I can scroll over the left side of the screen and I hear the "click" noise when I scroll over the "find server" or "options" tab, etc. And I can click on them, but the screen still maintains its black... voidness.

What is going on?

I think it might have happened the last time I installed, but I cannot remember how or whether I fixed it.
