i've run xp pro pretty much since it came out... installed it many times, and today set up my first media center edition pc...
...what's so hard about xp pro? media center had more stuff to set up than pro has... and pro has about as much as home... in fact, i've never noticed a difference... what happened?

well amy, you have to turn off the windows xp anal firewall first. then turn off the anal updates. after this is finished, you restart 6 times and run veal.bat \i xpanus -f -u. if this does not work, please add/remove the program bootupyer.exe from windows ass. programs. and repeat process.

Kernel_data_inpage_error
technical information: 0x0000007a (0x00000003, 0xc0000005, 0x3a0e90f0, 0x00000000)
***** you windows Xp PRO. with sticks. and needles. and dead baby cows.
(brand new windows xp pro cd rom, brand new harddrive, brand new everything... and the freaking thing is giving me this error, time to dig through manuals and see what the freak it thinks is wrong.)
and now.....
0x0000007e ( oxc0000005, 0x003ded27, 0xf78da0c4, 0xf78d9dc4)
**** you windows xp pro.
that was during the install. It would get so far and stop, either the BSD, black screen, or a reboot.

here's something i was running into a lot lately. if you're using IDE hard drives, make sure that the jumpers are set to master or slave depending on which slot you plug it into on the IDE cable. apparently i had a drive set to slave and it was plugged into the master part of the cable, and that just screwed with stuff.
and i was getting the same problem... it would start to load windows, then bluescreen and restart. then it couldnt' find the hard drive... yeah... that's most likely it if you're having problems getting windows on there in the first place.

Why are you wasting good Veal on Windows XP? Just bread the veal and bake it. Serve with a helping of mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and a tossed salad - italian dressing preffered. Then bring the computer to me with the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. If I can't make it work, I'll keep it free of charge

once upon a time (sometime this week to be PRECISE)
A girl started to build a computer for her father with what he said he wanted in it. It was her first home built, and probably her last for her father if he keeps acting the way he does. "Its broken" says the girl... "I can have it runn just fine for hours and you touch it and it crashes with in 30 seconds" says the dad.
So the girl leaves him to install things.
and then the girl finds out he missed 54 windows updates even though he said it was done installing updates.
So the girl dl's them for her father while he's gone, and she leaves to leave windows do its thing...
only to come home to find the computer went to the BSD, and installed 51 of the 54 updates. Frustrated she finds out that she wants to runn disk defrager on the harddrive, yet the computer won't let her b/c of system file problems. You must runn scandisk or checkdisk first it says. I say its bullshit. The HD is reading its total capacity is 130 some gigs.(250 gig hd)
The girls father decreed to the mother "she can't take it to get it fixed"
so the Girl simply GAVE UP and said Enjoy your piece of shit computer.
The End.

All will be re-vealed latter. Question- how much and when do I make payment? Veal does not grow on trees. I will have to get a calf, pen it up, feed it a milk diet, clean up the mess the calf makes, violate about a dozen village statutes, pay fines and go to court. Oh the things that you ask of me. All this because I did not have the time to make my own computer. Sigh, again how much and when?
Teh sledghammer would have been easier.
