so, ive been playing cs:s on a 5 year old dell specs as follows:
p4 2.26ghz no HT 512 RDRAM (the stuff that was supposed to replace DDR) geforce 4 4200ti 64mb 520gb hdd
so.. after being fed up with 20-30 fps average.. i decided to upgrade to this (to arrive on tuesday)
amd x2 4800+ asus a8n-sli premium 2gb corsair xms ddr400 2-3-3-6 2x evga 7800gt OC 256mb in sli 2x raptors raid 0 2x 250gb sata2 storage hdd antec truepower2 550w ps dual ibm trinitron 21" crt
i have to say, after this i will never be able to complain about lag...
im going to document the build process for a friend, if anyone wants to see it, i can post it here by request.
happy hunting, Ct06033

Just wait five years and you will find that lag is not an issue. There will be many other things that will cause us grief by then. "The future has a way of undermining todays confidences." A Bait original self quote.
Bait (and Casandra have nothing in common.)

WOW! I thought I spent alot on my new build!
X1900 Crossfire X2 4400 4 GB Ram (2) 200 GB SATA drives and (1) 300 GB SATA drive with a 160 GB backup external Dell 2005FPW monitor i-Star server case Sunon 550W power supply
I'm guessing your build cost almost 3k?
