i recently got a dvd burner, and it comes with nero express 6, and it won't copy a dvd because it's copy protected. i've heard of software that one can buy software, but i was wondering if there is any free stuff. or even tell me stuff i have to buy, because i could do that also. i've heard that dvd x copy was very good at one point, but got sued and now cannot directly copy dvds. any ideas are welcome. thanks.

nero will allow you to burn copyrighted dvds.
You simply burn an image (an .iso extension file) to your computer and rip it from the image.
This is only legal to make Archival copies.

i haven't tried an ISO with nero, but i downloaded a thing called DVD shrink that compresses it, because it was 5.7 gigs. it compressed it to 4.7 gigs (the size of the blank DVD) and it still is very good quality.

dvd shrink with Nero installed it GREAT. Shrink and burn with a click of (3?) buttons.
DVD Shrink works with nero if you have both installed.
