I agree. It is not worth the trouble, especially if you are new to the linux thing.
Using Wine is a huge hack that is not going to work 100% regardless.
Ubuntu makes it really easy to dual boot. That's what you should be looking at.

Linux is alright if you have time to work through the learning curve. The biggest drawback (and really, the only remaining drawback) is gaming. TransGaming has come out with a product called Cedega which many people claim can run all of their favorite games. It is essentially a Wine fork (used to be called WineX) which focuses on DirectX DLL implimentation, so it renders 3D and inter-operates with driver commands much more efficiantly. I've never tried it, but some folks I know swear by it. www.transgaming.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=29&meid=Here is the link to the database: transgaming.org/gamesdb/games/view.mhtml?game_id=3524Its a commercial product, so it costs money, but there is a demo I think. Cheers, -Jayne

I saw a windows emulator thing you could buy at the store to put win pro/home on your Mac. Costs about $250 though...

To get Strcraft to work on a linux PC use a hammer on your head until you see stars. Stop before you pass out or do any permanent damage.
