Do we really need it? Rate hacking is pretty rare, and easy to identify. For the few idiots who we do get rate hacking, is it worth bogging the server down with another superfluous plugin? And yes, seeing chat spam about who is getting their rate changed every few minutes is annoying. Cheers, -Jayne I swear, if I see :Ace Rates: <name>'s <rate> was <raised, lowered> from <number> to server <minimum, maximum> any more, I'm going to freaking explode. And that would be happening with like 3 people every single round. It's like... Nose posting on the forums. It's there, and you can't do anything about it. <3 Nose

Don't you pick on my nose, and your rate has been changed to 15000.

very annoying... this also does not affect those who have not changed their default variable (cl_restrict_server_commands 1) -- which btw changes back to 1 when you change it to 0. also this variable doesn't allow people to vote. steam has screwed the mod pooch on this one. most features of all mods are pretty much useless now. only way to keep that variable 0 that i know of is to 1 write protect your config.cfg file or use an autoexec.cfg file (and i write protected that one)

Didn't it kick people who didn't comply? -Jayne

if we do that jayne, the server will be empty most of the time because good ol steam has made 1 the default. and even if people change it, when they relog it defaults back to 1 (even if it's in their config.cfg)

Rate hacking is rare... as long as rates are reasonable it doesn't end up affecting too much. If someone is lagging badly or not registering hits well you can just use ma_rates to check, and then yell at them if their rates are messed up.
