I thought that the new president was supposed to make it all better? If the stock market is any indicator then we are in for a rough ride to better times.

It may take 12 years to recover from this crisis. no one really knows.
i did vote for obama but i am not expecting him to wave a wand and poof it'll be better. regardless of president, it's going to be tough for a while.

My entire thought was a farce! It takes a congress to screw things up as badly as what they have been. Blaming the president or any other individual is nonsense.
All of the election rhetoric is bull. Blame Bush and you have the wrong idea that everyone bought into.
Shame on everyone for not thinking before voting.
Vote NO on all issues that offer you a change to anything!

Well, there's nothing anyone can do to FIX it, but there's all kinds of ways they can screw it up. The government is better off letting the market self-regulate.
And Congress should try not passing initiatives that encourage banks to give loans to people who can't afford them. "Yay look at the home ownership statistics!" ... oh wait

Bat man to Robbin - to the Bat computer. Well it seems that is about the best of things that congress could do at this point. Oh wait they are going to confiscate the 401ks and IRAs and put them under the care of Social Security. A little while ago they were talking about putting Social Security into the sock market. Now they want to take the money out of the stock market when it is already taking gas? remove more money and make it go down more? Is this country being run by idiots? Oh wait that was the Democrats talking, damn near communism if you ask me. Oh wait that is the real McCoy of a communist, take from the masses so that you can take care of the masses with no individual control. Bah humbug.
Spread the word far and clear the commies are in control.

communism isn't taking from the people so that there is no individual control.
communism gives the people the means of production. meaning that the people control it.
pure communism has no government.

Russia
Viet Nam
Venezuela
Laos
Cuba
History has shown us what happens when a communists take over. Learn history or repeat the lesson again but do not expect me to go along with your bull feathers.

you're believing in this country's propaganda!
history hasn't seen pure communism on a large scale. they've only seen in in small family farms in India and other places who gather all their resources and then divide it to whoever needs it.

Then there is no proof that a communist state can ever work as all that have tried it have failed and turned into dictatorship by tyrants. As that is the only case that we have to work with then until there is a working state of pure Communisim I am safe in saying it does not work as advertised. Until we have a working state as proof of concept it is a theory only and not something to be touted as wonderful.
Go start your country and see if what happened to Vladimir Lenin will happen to you. Look at what happens to the people who start a communist society. Лeв Давидович Трóцкий got run off and assassinated.
