Deep in the jungles of Vietnam a patrol runs into a man riding a mule with his wife behind him. They question the man about activity in the area. “There is little VC activity in the area.” is his reply. Why is your wife walking behind you? “Tradition the woman always follows the men.”
A month latter they run across the same man in the same area but this time the wife is walking in front of the man riding the mule. His response to the question of is there VC activity is “There is a little activity in the area.” Then why is your wife walking in front of you? “Land mines.”
The next month the patrol runs across the same man only this time the woman is walking first followed by the mule and the man is walking behind all of them. His response to the activity question is simple. “There is a lot of activity now the VC are using anti tank mines.”
