Canada just observed its Remembrance Day, where we honour those who, in past, defended our country. I understand the US observes a similar custom of Veterans day. 11th month, 11th day, 11th hour. End of a war.
My grandfather served in the war (second), and although he never saw action, he performed a critical role in the war effort. His main responsibility was to keep the troops fed. This might not seem like much, but an army marches on its stomach.
I thought AC needed a thread to remember and recount the contributions and sacrifices our families and friends made during wartime.
And, as I've said many times today, and on several forums I frequent, I salute and remember those who fought and died (under every flag) defending the people of all freedom loving countries. This can not be repeated enough...
...lest we forget.

I'm grateful as well. I think that anybody can remember the 11th month and 11th day at the 11th hour, that seems easy enough!
Thanks!

So that's the 15th day, of the 10th money, during the 9th hour? I got that! JK.
Having family that has been through WWII and most everything after that (my brother is currently in Kuwait working as a "post-army" contractor), I pay my respects to anyone from the military. My grandfather was injured in WWII, yet to the day he died was proud of what he did and told me so many stories, some over and over because I would just listen in awe to what he said.
*bows down to the great men and women in the military*
