I like 939's better right now
DDR2's cas latency is too high for my blood, and the timings on it suck ballz
Unless you can find cheap DDR2 RAM with a low cas latency, AM2 is a useless socket right now
It just can't match the speed of 939, or 940 (talkin bout opterons here)

Socket 939 is going out and then there will be very little call for standard DDR (prices go through the roof), say about this time next year when I add another gig of ram and DDR2 800 is cheap. Using socket AM2 is a method of assuring t least one upgrade path is available at a reasonable price when I'm ready to take it. There are other arguments such as lower power requirements, forward compatability with socket AM3, and availability in the speed that I wanted.
