I swear that when my computer broke I swear I lost at least 50 IQ points. The correlation of IQ diminishment and computer breakage seems to be holding true for Jackle.
Please let it get fixed soon before the brain damage becomes permanent.
To avoid this problem I have begun assembling the components for a new computer. The Antec P180B is just an arms length away. I am waiting for Frys to put one of the larger Antec power supplies on sale to buy it or will have to search the internet for one on sale. So let the fun and building begin.

have you checked your fans?
my heatsink fan quit on me like this and the computer wouldn't boot at all.
I'm assuming you used thermal compund on your processor -> heatsink when you installed the new mobo of course....

That sounds to me like you have either a short or an IDE cable connected backwards. Check your standoffs from the he case and make absolutely sure you don't have any components grounding out on the case or metal standoffs. I once got a call from a friend who had assembled a new computer and had a similar problem - it turned out that he had used all brass standoffs to install the motherboard and that one of them was touching the traces just outside of the grounding ring - that was very frustrating because it would just turn on an heat up the CPU - no sounds or anything. If all else fails, try booting it up with only Ram and cpu installed to check for a system post, then start adding compnents in until it breaks again.

my fans are all working correctly im fairly sure that im not grounding anything out but ill check again. i am kind of kicking myself about the IDE cable cause i hadnt even thought to check them and ive had them be screwed up before.
*update* ok i checked me cables and its not them im still not gettin a picture. but i think i left my monitor on for a couple days and maybe it burny out or somethin. cause im not even gettin a picture when my hdd is unplugged. im about to pull out my computer and run it outta the case just to make sure im not grounding it.

Oh, you don't know about the Hammer and Milk Method? That is absurd. They always teach that in computer classes, and it's usually common knowledge! I mean, come on, it's not that difficult. It's the Hammer and Milk Method. And apparently, since Jackle is still having problems, he hasn't done this yet. Psshh.

Alright caboose elaborate on the method. It had better not be get a hammer and pound the computer into dust. Then go eat cookies until you feel full.
