I played it today for the first time, it's fun.

Buy game, the easy part.
Install game, second easy part.
Steam game update one hour download.
Steam Client update three minute download.
Try to play game - unavailable? What the f***.
Try again to Play game - introduction video runs fine.
Game loads - your video drivers are out of date.
Download four part driver 85 Mb one hour donwload.
Opps that was the media center stuff, oh well now I can watch HDTV, it was supposed to do that but they forgot to do the driver.
Download driver the second item on the driver page. 35 Mb downbloat.
Now into hour four of trying to get Left 4 dead going.

basicly....4 player co-op zombie survival...

....with an overlord AI director controlling all the AI, including spawn points and item placment, making every map dynamically change every time you play it...

thrown in 4v4 Vs games (survivors Vs human controlled 'boss' zombies) and you have some pure awesome...

Funny you should say that, because playing left 4 dead thus far reminds me a LOT of running instances in WoW. Especially the campaign mode.

I'm not sure as to why. I think it might be the dialog between members as they contemplate upcoming challenges. Even the same terms are used: "Don't agro the witch", etc.

I'm still undecided on versus mode. While its fun to play the zombies, there doesn't appear to be much in the way of substance there. You're only alive for a few seconds, then you have to wait half a minute to respawn. It's a little boring, and the zombie control scheme needs work. It's almost as if they just threw the infected team in there to give the other four players something to do while they wait to be survivor again, but frankly, I'm not enjoying it.

I'll keep at it. Maybe I'll get better at playing the infected as time goes on.
