Time for an intervention!
Thats right all you WoWchoholics need to admitt your addiction and kick it, then come play CS. I have a six step system to help you kick this horrible habit!
Step 1: Admitt you cant stop playing a game that isnt fun at least 50% of the time and your paying them to do it. Step 2: Admitt the time spent getting the the highest level will never be finished because there will ALWAYS be a new $30+ update soon. Step 3: WoW is mainstream now, and everyone knows that everyone that is good with the interwebnet is a rebel and shouldnt do anything mainstream. Step 4: Experiance the adrenline from action games (like CS) that you cant get the same experance from WoW. Step 5: Uninstall WoW and Cancel account. Setp 6: Take a hot shower to remove the taint of EVIL
Your cured horay!
(Note: I dont really hate WoW, i just think its weird that most people who play WoW ONLY play WoW.)

WOW SUCKS!!!!!!! i absolutely hate that game, yet i was addicted for the first year, off and on i've put time on it, but i'll never do it again, for many reasons, yes no adrenaline like you get in cs, 2, there are tons of decent mmo's out there that are free, 3 when Conan: Age of Hyboryan comes out, well it'll own!, conan rocks, that'll be the only mmo that i could be proud to pay for (maybe, i'll have to test it)....anyways, cs is far better than WoW
why wow sucks!
~PVE Servers~ Kinda get boring, always got annoying little brats crying about everything, and when they get high lvl they become little arses that you wish their parents would beat!....like how they follow you and kill everything you are trying to quest on! also lots of beggers and immature people that just bring down the entire atmosphere of the game!
~PVP Servers~ REPEAT of pve servers....plus no one has any concept of honour or resptect to a fellow warrior, maybe it's the way society is today, but if i ever got into a fight i wouldn't out number my opponent, i would fight him one on one, ie no ganking. I wouldnt' kick him while he is down, such thigns are for cowards, ie pk'ing when low health....well that's just the way i am, but guess the rest of the world lost it's virutes and values, even when it comes to combat....and on pvp servers impossible to quest on!
~RP Servers~ haven't played much on there, but from when i did, people took it far to seriously!....i mean beyond me!....it's like they thought it was their actual life or something, hey you wanna be respectful and honourable in a game, cooL! you wanna be the type of character you would be in a fantasy world (even if a backstabing cowardly prick!) cooL!!!.....you forget you're on planet earth and think you're in azeratoth or whatever.....not so cool!....dont see cs people, well not many, thinking they live in cs_italy, or work at cs_office, or at de_port, etc!
all in all, wow is a waste of time, i mean i'm wasting my time typing this crap up, and i could spend a year doing this post and it still wouldn't amount to how much of a waste of time WoW is, if 5 minutes of WoW compared to ayear of posts of this is still more of a waste of time!...
pay monthly fees, dont own your account, get pissed off every time you play!!!!and for what, the end of the day you're 170$ bucks a year poorer....tisk tisk
back oh many years ago i spend 30 bucks to get diablo 2 and the expansion, and well i've had tons of fun for years playing that game, and well i'm about 500 bucks richer than the wowoholics.... not to mention i dind't have spend every life giving breath i had to get anywhere in the game, where WoW if you dotn breath it you dont think you come close to beating it, tho you never will....nice satisfaction factor, like how you can get to max lvl and still get killed by someone!!...BOOO no skill game! well this was boring and what i need to to get myself to sleep!

I admit I played Wow for a few months, but I just couldn't get into it. I only marginally understand people who do get addicted to this game.
Although, I do remember a study they did on this a while back. I wish I remember where I read it so I could link to it:
In summary, they took a bunch of rats, and put them each in their own cage. The cages were rigged so that if the rats pressed a button, then food would dispense. After a few days, the observers found that the rats would press the button only when hungry (2-3 times per day).
Then they changed the procedure. Essentially, they altered it so that when the button was pressed, there would be a random (1 in 10) chance that food would dispense. As soon as the rats discovered this change, the observers noticed they were pressing the button relentlessly, all day long, even though they were accumulating mass amounts of food in their cage.
I suspect humans are wired the same way. When we have no problem with not having access to something we know is available through minimal effort. But once you factor in chance, we as animals have some instinctive compulsion to continuously seek it out.
Hence the need to collect things that aren't available in everyday life. I would imagine the same logic applies to loot drops in WoW. If they were more frequent, or easier to obtain, the addiction might be less potent.
My thoughts for the day, -Jayne

Jesus. Christ. It's people like you that give me high blood pressure. ROFL!!!! at least i'm doing something! and jayne that makes sense for the most part, except i never cared about drops...but i'm a minority, most of the people i know who play wow, are like, wow look at this item and search where items are dropped and stuff.....me i just wanted to build a customized rpg charater......good d2 or ff7....golden days have died so sad.

The golden days of computing died in the 1960's. That was the last time you could get unlimited mainframe time late at night. Just go in and turn on the machine. Other people would beg for computer runs. Now those were the days of battleships on the console typewriter. There were real dungeons then where they kept the people who wanted to do real computing.

I'm going to respond to this, but I'm trying to figure out how pissed off some people will get. I'll figure it out when I get up for work.
Ok. I say you give me high blood pressure because your extreme audacity really irritates me, and here's why.
First off, you are saying that because of people, the game sucks. People are like that in every game, including (omfg gasp) CS. Why don't you just stop playing every online game that requires interaction with other people? It'll save you the time of playing that game and then making a long post about how it sucks. Moving along...
They put in an ignore system for a reason. You don't like someone or if they're bothering you, either /ignore them or report them to the GMs. If that is too much for you, gg.
PvP servers: There is a good reason why these are made. When deciding which server to roll on, there is one nice way to figure out if you should go to PvP or PvE: look down, and if there are two round masses missing between your legs, then PvE is just for you. Otherwise, you can roll on the PvP server. Now, just because you rolled on it doesn't mean that the other faction is going to bow to you. If they see you, they're gonna kill you. Simple as that. If you can't deal with it, go to a different server. Don't complain that the server system sucks because you don't know how to pick what kind of server you want to roll on. I love the idea of being able to kill Alliance whenever I want to - and I suffer the consequences of doing so. I can live with that. That is why PvP servers exist.
RP Servers - it's called roleplaying for a reason. Either you're RPing or gtfo. Simple as that.
And seriously, if you think you have to "breath it" to get anywhere, you probably didn't get past lvl 7. Not gonna lie, it has probably the easiest leveling/advancement system ever. And you did contradict yourself pretty poorly: "how you can get to max lvl and still get killed by someone!!...BOOO no skill game!" I don't know how you can say that and complain about the game at the same time. If you get killed by someone lower level than you, you probably suck. Or they're really good. I rocked a guy 3 levels above me last night after he got me to half health while I was afk. What does that tell you? He's retarded. That's what it tells you. He obviously didn't know how to play his class, but I knew how to play mine. Now, if this really was a "no skill" game, he would've won simply because he was a higher level than me. But since it isn't, I kicked his ass.
The next time you try and rip on a game, make your arguments at least semi-valid.

God I love a good argument.
I don't have any freakin' clue why.
Btw, I could rag the hell outta WoW.
Why in God's name would they allow the Alliance to have Shamans and the Horde to have Paladins... (I canceled my account the day they announced this, July 21 2006)

LOL!!! yea that was kinda dumb, i never went to burning crusade.
as for arguments, they're great, it's the best way to learn, truth is discovered, and well you either learn from your opponents stronger statements, or you learn from the statements you're able to devise to battle your opponent. either way both you and you're opponent walk away with some type of knowledge. and it' sonly the best when people argue for knowledges sake.

heh right on!, i think i'd have to reciprocate that feeling. hopefully we can get into some good debates, maybe get some team debates going on or something.....and hopefully something better than a wow topic.....we can start off with something small, like the AWP, we'll have people pro awp, and anti awp (or jsut me and you if no one wants to join in, if anyone does, if you aren't familiar with debates, put aside your true feelins about the subject cause feelings dont count, it's facts, arguments and reasoning that counts.)

Whoa guys holding a debate here is like throwing gasoline on a fire to put it out. Add some acetylene and a few matches and you have the configuration for a hot time where members threaten to leave or do other strange things.
Oh what the hell have at it.
